TASTY TUESDAY link up

I'm a little late posting, but it is still Tasty Tuesday. I'll give you a few extra days to link up, too.

Have you discovered pinterest? If not, watch out because it is addicting. I have a whole file of recipes on there that I find and want to try. So far a few have been delicious successes. Tonight I'm sharing my favorite.  I've tweaked it a little bit because that makes cooking personal and fun. Here is a link to the original recipe for chocolate banana "ice cream." Of course that is the only recipe on my "healthy recipes" board. It is so yummy, and doesn't taste like low-cal food. My version is more like a shake.

It is simple to make, too. As bananas ripen on the counter and it looks like you may not use them before they get too ripe, slice them into 1/2 inch thick pieces and freeze them. When ready for this delicious dessert, take them out of the freezer. If they are rock hard, let them thaw just a little. Put into blender frozen sliced bananas and cocoa powder. Add a small amount of milk just to help the blender turn. Blend until smooth. Enjoy. This is delicious and has no sugar added! The kids all like this.
