Grace & Truth Books

As he has been reading more and more, I have been trying to find quality books for my 8 year old son to read. Grace and Truth books shared two books from their nine volume boy's heritage series: Gerrit and His Dog ($5.50) and  A Faithful Boy's Influence ($6.25).  Each paperback book actually contains two stories.

Gerrit and His Dog (for ages 8-12) became a quick favorite for my son, as you can see pictured with his own dog. With six chapters and forty pages, he was able to easily read the large print.

The second story within this book, The Royal Law, is much shorter with only two chapters. It is a strong story about a little boy named Hans who is convicted about "the royal law" in Sunday School. The actions of his parents at first are very harsh. I recommend reading this story with your children.

A Faithful Boy's Influence, by Aunt Friendly, seems to have an intended audience just a bit older. The second story in that book Ears For Little Gleaners by Herbert Dawson was the one I personally enjoyed the most. It reads like a series of short sermons for children in the mid 1800s. I used excerpts from that story for copywork.

Disclaimer: We received the two books mentioned above at no cost to me for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own. See what other crew members shared in their reviews here about many of the other books offered by Grace & Truth books. .
