One thing that was frequently on my Granny's shopping list was a special card. She would remind me to make sure to pick a pretty one. She also loved to receive cards and would display them on her corner shelf and show them to everyone who visited. Recently we all gathered to celebrate my Mom's birthday. Powpow asked as he sat down if I had a card for him to give Mama, and I was sad that I had not had Granny's reminder to pick out a special card. Then I remembered the Encouragement set from Dayspring and quickly looked through them to see if there was a birthday one. There were two! Powpow chose his favorite and added his words of love.
One of the special things I enjoy with my mom is visiting with tea. I thought this card was just perfect to share with her.
These unique cards started with photos taken in an antique store. A vintage typewriter, sewing machine, and even a rolling pin just like my Grandmother's are just some of the treasures depicted on each cover. But that isn't all. Intricate details are also included: words sewn on with colorful thread, tags dangling from teacups, and sparkles added to pictures add another dimension. The Redeemed Card pack and Encouragement Cards may be just what you are looking for to make someone's day brighter.

ReplyDeleteHello! I love sending cards but it seems I never have any on hand! I have several people I could think of that would be blessed by an encouraging card...my girls' Sunday school teachers would be where I'd start. ;)

How pretty, I love vintage looking things and going through antique stores. Giving a card like these would let people know I was really thinking of them. I dont always give cards but I do often, especially for birthdays or when someone is going through a very rough time.
ReplyDeleteI think this year, I'd like to encourage all of the families who advocate for orphans with me at Christmas. It can be exhausting and discouraging, and they could use pick me ups!

ReplyDeleteI keep saying I should write letters (the old fashioned way) more often to my aunts who don't have email and all of that. I would send these cards to them, and I'm sure they would especially appreciate some of the antique images. 8-)
ReplyDeleteMy grandma and my friends.
ReplyDeleteI am so bad about sending cards, if I had a bunch handy, perhaps I could manage to get some in the mail!
ReplyDeleteI would send a card to my daughter-in-law.
