Homeschool Crew Review: The Reading Game

While helping with laundry duty Joseph surprised me with his question: "Mommy, the washing machine says extra smell. Will that make the clothes smell extra good?" I looked at the machine to see if the word was blurred. No. Extra small was written clearly on the dial for load size. Little things like this are why I was interested in the opportunity to review the Reading Game.
When we received this game we had just endured a stinky shunk experience at our house. Joseph enjoyed playing the game and reading the story about a skunk.
The Reading Game comes with a teacher and parent's guide, six paperback books and six decks of memory cards which progress through 180 vocabulary words. Available for $24.95, this is created by the author of Wordly Wise which my girls have both benefited from. You can try their pre-test here to see if your child would benefit from The Reading Game.

     From the website:
The Reading Game is supplemental curriculum material that complements most standard curriculums, meets the criteria of the Common Core State Standards for Language Arts and Reading and Foundational Skills for both kindergarten and first grade, and improves classroom teaching effectiveness.

Disclaimer: As a member of the TOS homeschool review crew I was given The Reading Game for the purpose of this review.
