Our Schoolroom 2011-2012

I don't remember where I first heard "the world is our classroom," but that is how I feel, too. We make the most of the days we spend entirely at home, but that is not typically even half of the time. One day a week we travel for music lessons. We have been reading through our scripture memory as well as this book while I drive; the girls take turns reading. During other travels I try to find interesting ways to make each trip educational and fun.

At home, some lessons are done gathered around the dining room table. Most of our science experiments are completed in the kitchen. Often the children take their independent work outside to the porch, the trampoline, or the tree house. Lately it has been too hot to stay outside very long, so they are doing more on the sofa.

I am again linking up with Heart of the Matter's 3rd Annual Not Back-to-School Blog Hop.

  7. Your students look they are hard workers. They are adorable. I cannot wait to get our classroom set up for when my little ones are old enough to sit at a desk.

  9. I tried to have a classroom....now we have a work area set aside in our living room and the kitchen so I can have groups working in two areas.

Thanks for the blog hop. Following from the Crew.

  10. I hear ya!!! I see your kids are deep in learning and it looks so fun. We don't have a designated space. We're pretty eclectic on that...LOL All that matters is they are learning right? Thanks for stopping by Cross Rhodes Academy! :D

  13. One of my favorite quotes, but I must admit to loving having a school room. Even if it is more for just storing things hehe.
