In my life this week...
This week has flown by. We completed our 4th week of this school year. I am back to work a little more, which changes our schedule a bit.
In our homeschool this week...
The memorization with CC is working. We made sets of note cards on a ring clip with our memory facts for each of the children, and are adding to them each week. They are enjoying learning the states and capitals to the tune of Turkey in the Straw.
Places we're going & people we're seeing...
Thursday was our annual homeschool group field day at a nearby state park. We enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs with friends and had plenty of time to visit.
My favorite thing this week was...
So far today (Saturday) has been my favorite. We are spending the whole day home and I've been catching up on a few sewing projects.
What's working/not working for us...
Meal planning is finally starting to work for us. I still have a lot of planning to do before I can declare it a complete success.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...
Do you have someone you look at and think you want to be like? There are other homeschooling families that seem to be able to do it all. I know I'm not supposed to compare, but just once I'd like to feel like I have it all together. This week I forgot to take my son's new music books to his music lessons.

This was Emily's Thursday night creation: potato soup, chicken Caesar salad with homemade croutons, and cat shaped rolls, yummy!
I LOVE the cat shaped rolls! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteKC, when she told me her plan I envisioned simple Southern "cat head" biscuits. She had been flipping through cookbooks and found the step by step instructions for this. I had fun watching as she taught her big sis and little brother how to form theirs, too. The original recipe had dried currents for eyes, but with no currents in the house she improvised.
