Since our first review of their products earlier this year, Koru Naturals products have become family favorites, and my girls and I were all delighted to try four new ones (new to us!) during this review. We received their Skin Clear Cream, Manuka Honey Propolis Soap, and Emu Oil Shampoo and Emu Oil Leave-In Conditioner.
We had a little behind the scenes discussion about the Skin Clear Cream on our crew forum. Apparently this product has a different consistency based on each reviewer's climate. In Louisiana, we have had a few cool days, but for the most part it's just been hot and dry here lately. Coconut oil is one ingredient in this cream, and when just left out, my coconut oil is liquified. Well, my skin clear cream arrived liquified, too. Despite that change, it still worked fabulously. After leaving this on my face for just a minute then washing it off, my face feels so clean. Though recommended to use twice daily, my skin is clear, and once a day with this natural facial cleanser has been just right. My daughters and I (yes I shared) all like using this and have changed our face washing routine to include it. Because of the creamy texture that some of the crew members in colder climates reported, I tried a little experiment. I put our skin clear cream in the refrigerator, and it turned into not a solid mass like coconut oil but in fact a soft (and chilled) creamy texture. Until winter, I'm just going to leave it there between uses.
The Honey and Propolis soap feels indulgent. It is two toned and dual textured sort of like honey and cream. My oldest daughter especially likes this. (Maybe I need to order a bar for her stocking.) If we weren't sharing I'm sure it would last longer, but we are, and it is already about halfway gone.
When I first requested to review the Emu Oil Shampoo and Leave-In Consitioner, I actually intended for my oldest daughter to use it. Actually, after reading another crew friend's reviews of this the first time, I thought from her description that it would be perfect for her hair. Somehow though, the shampoo ended up in my shower. I've been washing my hair with this for several weeks, and the texture of my hair has changed. It feels so incredibly clean, not stripped, but as if years of product build up have been washed away. Remember I said it is hot and dry here? The leave in conditioner feels good, and I do like using it as sort of a detangling spray when my hair is dry, but to feel softer I added in using the Emu Oil which we received for the first review. All three products together work perfectly. My daughter did in fact try it and liked it, but didn't use it consistently as I did.

i like that you experimented with putting it in the fridge, sounds like it was a good solution to managing the heat. :) Annette @ a net in time
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting how the consistency changed so dramatically.
