Grow Your Blog

Welcome to those of you visiting from Vicky's 2 Bags Full (or anyone else here for the first time.) If you click on the "about" tab at the top of this blog, you will see a lot more about us.

Normally at this time of year in South Louisiana it is cold, but snow is extremely rare. Last time it snowed here was several years ago. Right now, though, we are experiencing snow flurries and our whole family is enjoying the novelty. I'm thankful we are able to just stay home together and play in the white stuff while it lasts. Hot cocoa is planned. I've been making a variation of my Mother-in-law's delicious chocolate frosting, just diluted in hot milk. Yummy!

Look around while you are here. We homeschool. Currently my children are in 4th, 8th, and 10th grade. I also review homeschool curricula (among other things) so search or ask if you are looking for something specific. I've been an Occupational Therapist for 20 years. The OT View label will show some posts with that slant. Vicki asked for a picture. If you click the Twitter, Pinterest, or Google + links in the right sidebar you will see one. Or just look through the blog posts.

My blog isn't focused on one thing. Our family has a lot of interests, and I share about most of them here. I also share some of our favorite recipes here. And encouragement. Scripture & A Snapshot is a weekly meme full of blessings. Another opportunity to link up is with the Virtual Refrigerator. If you post about art-- tutorials or completed projects, come join us.

Thanks for visiting a glimpse of our life. Leave a comment and let me know you were here.

  1. Hi Jennifer! I'm Becky, one of the Grow Your Own Blogs volunteers. I'm visiting blogs for Victoria. Thanks so much for participating in this blog party! Where are you living in South Louisiana? Ironically, I'm a South Louisiana native living in Georgia. My hometown is Lafayette. Enjoyed seeing the posts on Facebook with snow in Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Take care!

  3. Hi Jennifer! Looks like you got more snow than we did here in Nebraska all winter -- it's so dry! I admire you for homeschooling... my boys are all grown now, but I wish I had had the opportunity to home school when they were at home. Happy to be a new follower here. xo

    1. The weather is odd this year, but that is surprising to have more snow than Nebraska. Thanks for visiting!

  5. Jennifer, I'm visiting from the Grow Your Blog Party. You have a great blog here and your photos are very good. I especially love the snow photos because where I live - Portugal, we don't get any snow at all. I'm having a giveaway at my little blog (http://acbeads.blogspot.com)
    All the best, Ana

  7. Nice to meet you and your lovely family. You seem to live your life rather than letting it happen to you. I am glad you are enjoying the snow - I live in western Canada where snow is normal and I never tire of its beauty. Thanks for sharing. Happy hopping!
