For the motherless daughters and the childless mothers…
My girls and I spent a lovely day together learning embroidery techniques. When we showed my mom what we had learned in the class, she showed us a collection of doilies, handkerchiefs and tablecloths that my granny and her sister had beautifully stitched. Happy Mothers Day to all of you.

He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their sorrows.
Psalm 147:3
What a beautiful verse of comfort! And how wonderful that you and your daughters are learning a new domestic art together.
ReplyDeleteSometimes days like this are hard. I love all the comfort found in God's Word.
DeleteWe are enjoying learning together, thanks.
thanks for the LInky. I loved to embroider in my "youth". I have one that I did hanging in my kitchen. It says: No matter where I serve my guests them seem to like my kitchen best.

I agree with your sampler, it is fun to gather with friends in the kitchen.
DeleteThis is lovely! I'm all thumbs (and can barely sew on a button) so I am quite envious of your workmanship! Have a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteCarrie, this one was made by either my Granny or her sister. I'm a bit thumbs too, but am actually learning a lot from my very patient daughter.
DeleteWe so often forget those motherless and childless on this day. This year, the Lord has spoken to my heart about them so it was a blessing to see your picture today! Thanks for sharing and hosting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam
