sewing

According to a Facebook post (I know, I know- not the most reliable source) September is national sewing month. That sounds like a good excuse to highlight some fun sewing activities, complete some unfinished ones, and begin some new ones. Some that the girls and I have enjoyed are smocking nightgowns, doll clothes, and most recently their pioneer costumes. One I have planned to finish is my bedroom curtains (all but one panel are already completed and hanging  in my room.)

Do you sew? Do you want to learn to sew? If you do, what is your favorite thing to make?

Craftsy offers an Online Sewing Class or a FREE class for beginners: Sewing Machine 911.

Sew Beautiful has a schedule of sewing themed activities including giveaways each Friday this month. I love the heirloom style dresses they showcase.

If you create something new, complete a project, or try one of the classes come share about it in the comments. Be sure to share your link, too, if you blog about it.

  1. I know it's an August 30th post, but this is what I've finished this week. I'm going to take some photos and post them soon. http://www.harvestlanecottage.blogspot.com/2012/08/ive-been-sew-busy.html
