Homeschool Crew Review: Firetrucks

Lots and Lots of Firetrucks and Firefighters book and Safety Songs DVD set by Marshall Publishing has been a fun way for my children (especially enjoyed by my son) to learn more about fire safety. The songs are catchy; I have even heard my son whistling one of the tunes long after we stopped watching. This set is currently available for $29.95.

Joseph shared “I learned that you can call 911 free from a payphone.” (Actually I don’t see many pay phones any more.) He knew of a wildfire that was close to my cousin’s house in Texas last summer, so he asked even more questions about that after viewing this DVD.

The Lots and Lots of Firetrucks and Firefighters book is a full color 124 page paper back the size of a very thick coloring book. It includes a history of fires and firefighting and even firehouse recipes. Did you ever wonder why a dalmatian is the fire house dog? There is a page devoted to that. Tools and equipment are pictured and described, and there are even pictures of antique fire trucks.
