In my life this week...
For some reason our schedule has been filled up even more lately than through the holidays. This week we have been riding our bikes almost every day as a family. That is something new that I hope we continue.
In our homeschool this week...
We seem to be getting back into a routine, at least I feel like we got a lot accomplished.
Places we're going & people we're seeing...
We had our Keepers at Home meeting and the girls learned a lot about menu planning. I realized for something like that to be completed I need a more reliable written schedule. That still isn’t complete, but it is a goal.
We had another rocket launch afternoon and I was reminded how interesting some people are when you have the time to listen to them.
My favorite thing this week was...
Leaving the windows open and having a breeze blow through the house. This weather is perfect!
What's working/not working for us...
I was reminded what a huge blessing it is to live near family. We are planning interviews for the kids to ask my Grandparents about living through the Great Depression. Though we have been visiting with them, actually accomplishing that interview has not happened yet, but it will.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...
Discussions with another leader in our homeschool group made me think of advice from a church leader last Sunday. In our group, we want more parents to step up and become leaders. At church, when I asked about mission opportunities for the whole family, I was told to plan them. So I wonder how homeschool group members when asking for more activities would respond if we told them “Great idea, plan it!” If you are a leader in your group, how do you encourage more involvement from other members? If you are not a leader, what would make you want to contribute more?
A photo to share...
I wish I had a picture of Joseph on his bike today, but since I don’t I’ll try to paint for you a picture with words. Joseph enjoyed the movie Bolt, and today Mitch spray painted a black lightning bolt on our dog Bingo’s white fur. As we rode, I followed behindBingo Bolt and Joseph, both in their superhero attire. Joseph had on his big neon green Croc boots and his green cape. When Emily's tire went flat, her superhero brother walked back to Pappy's with her to get it fixed.

I agree, this week has had some lovely weather--which is so invigorating for those winter doldrums, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderful you live so close to grandparents. As we have completed studying the Great Depression ourselves and are moving on to World War II I have reminded my children that we are studying the time in which their grandparents were born.
Thanks for sharing your week!
I love the green cape & green boots! So nice to have good weather-we just had another snow storm. ;) I enjoyed your post. Holly
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are awesome. I am not going to show them to my sons or they will want to paint a lightning bolt on our Jack Russel Terrier as well. :)
ReplyDeleteYour first two sentences made me shake my head yes and then pout. Why is life so busy right now? And yay for you being able to ride bikes. I still have snow drifts as tall as my shoulders and higher the length of my driveway with several feet in the middle of the yard and more coming down as I type. booo hooo hooo I've never been SO READY for winter to be over before. I am SO GLAD SOMEONE OUT THERE is enjoying warm weather!!! :)
Too cute, the photos!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a tornado of activity - little ones both keep us youna and ear us out. No? And amen for the windows open. Fresh air!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless and Keep
