Second Chances by Max Lucado

The following is a review for BookSneeze.

Second Chances
More Stories of Grace
By Max Lucado
Published by Thomas Nelson

Book Description:

We humans are prone to failure. We’re experts at muddying, mixing, and messing up our lives. Who among us hasn’t looked up from the bottom of a pit and realized he dug it himself? Who hasn’t fallen so far, messed up so badly that she thought there was no hope? And it’s at these low points that we crave reminders that there’s hope for the broken.
No reminder is quite as poignant as a story of second chances. A story of grace in action. Who couldn’t use more stories of grace like this?

My View:

Max Lucado is an author whose books I have enjoyed reading for years. This book, like many of his others, is both encouraging and filled with Scripture references. He uses parables and other truths from Scripture and illustrates them with modern day examples that are easy to relate to. I know I need second (and third and fourth) chances. These stories share the hope of God in daily situations. They are shared "for the rebellious, regret-riddled, prideful, mistake-makers, a faltering faith, and for those who hurt us. I think there is at least one in here that everyone of us can relate to. One from the last section about forgiveness is my favorite. With forgiveness, everyone involved gets second chances.
