The Homeschool Mother's Journal

The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week...

This weekend is rainy so we are enjoying some unplanned time at home after a busy week.  I am back to my typical school year work schedule and we are working around it well. We also started going through winter clothes for our upcoming vacation, which seems odd as we have had 90-100 degree weather still.

In our homeschool this week...

The kids showed me how well they knew their memorization facts. Joseph completed his 3rd of 5 Rod and Staff 2nd grade math workbooks.

Places we're going and people we're seeing...

We visited my grandparents a few times and had a special lesson on how to make divinity

My favorite thing this week was...

More sewing with my girls and my Aunt.

What's working/not working for us...

Vacation planning is working for me, not that I've planned much more than the free museum day tickets, but I am so excited about our family trip. Scripture memory with the girls is working; we picked our new Siesta verses.

Things I'm working on...

My almost 14 year old's homemade chocolate birthday cake. It's still in the planning stage, but that is my project tonight along with last minute clutter hiding for her dinner party tomorrow.

A photo, link, or quote to share...

bedroom curtains are hung!

  1. I am glad you enjoying time sewing with the girls. My dd8 wants to sew so I am learning along side her as my mother instructs us (whether I like it or not!)
