Scripture and a Snapshot

He hath made the earth by his power, He hath established the world by his wisdom, And hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, And he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings with rain, And bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Jeremiah 10:12–13

My husband called us soon after he left the house Saturday to tell us go outside and look at this rainbow. In just one week we've had snow, freezing cold, rain, and now warmth enough to open the windows. In the extremes and in the beauty, God controls it all.

  3. I'm sitting here in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula today - healing from recent dental surgery - so my husband and I "had church" at home this morning - thankful for the technology that allows us to do that. We've watched the day go from darkness - to overcast - to brilliant blue sky and sunshine - back to overcast - to fog moving in and out of our backyard with the changing direction of the wind off of Lake Superior - all of it with plenty of snow on the ground. I love the variety! It's easy to remember that God is in control of the weather on bright and seemingly perfect days, but he's equally in control on dark and stormy days. What a great God we have!
