Recipe ~ July Blogging Challenge Day 8

One of our favorite healthy snacks is perfect in this hot summer sun. I first saw it as a copycat version of Wendy's Frostee, but the banana makes it quite different from that taste to me.

Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

Before bananas get overripe, slice and freeze. When ready for this treat, simply place about 1 cup of bananas into the food processor for each person who will be eating it. Add 1 Tablespoon of cocoa powder per cup of bananas, and then enough milk to help it easily blend. Pulse the food processor or heavy duty blender until creamy. If you prefer a shake consistency, add more milk. I like mine thick enough to eat with a spoon. If you try it, let me know what you think.

Do you have a recipe to share?

  1. We make something similar, except we use carob powder, and we add peanut butter, and a little pure maple syrup or honey. :-) Yummy!!

  2. Looks easy and yummy, so I will probably try it! I like Wendy's idea of adding peanut butter and honey or syrup too.

    1. We have tried peanut butter with banana but not chocolate too. The banana adds a surprising amount of sweetness.

    1. It is simple. We don't keep bananas in the freezer very long because my girls like it so much.
