DVD Review: VeggieTales Beauty and the Beet (and GIVEAWAY!)

A sneek peek of this movie was provided by FlyBy Promotions for the purpose of this review.

My kids and I watched the latest VeggieTales DVD together: Beauty and the Beet. Imagine VeggieTales grown up. It isn't like the ones the kids watched when they were little, but it did still have some of the original songs by Bob and Larry.

Part of the movie is a talent show, and I had to rewind to see if it really said what I heard. It was in fact in Greensburg. "Greens" my son said, "like vegetables," as if it was common sense.

About the film:
This brand-new VeggieTales musical premieres Oct. 14 and stars Kellie Pickler (American Idol,Dancing With the Stars), who brings her unmistakable voice to the role of Mirabelle, a sweet-potato singer whose family band is on the brink of superstardom. BEAUTY AND THE BEETblends the irresistible charm of VeggieTales with a heartfelt message about unconditional love. The DVD also includes Mac and Cheese, a giddy new “Silly Songs With Larry” segment in which Larry the Cucumber reveals the surprising and heretofore untold history of his family’s unexpected contributions to Italian cuisine. BEAUTY AND THE BEET is just the start of the fun in store this fall for VeggieTales fans, because the gang will also star in a brand-new Netflix original series, VeggieTales In the House, which premieres Thanksgiving weekend.

  1. Our favorite VeggieTales movie was Jonah. Even though they're now teens, I hear them singing Silly Songs with their friends. :)

  2. I don't think we'll ever outgrow VeggieTales. :-) It's hard to pick just one favorite family movie, but I'm pretty sure Jonah would be high on the list. Would love to win this newest VeggieTales DVD for my daughter.
