FaithLeaps: The Christian Mom's Guide to Starting a Virtual Assistant Business

The following is a review of a book provided by the author. Affiliate links are included.

Being a VA/Virtual Assistant is a relatively new job opportunity which more and more are doing from home: virtual assistant. Alyssa Avant's book shares how diverse these opportunities are as well as some basics about getting started. Basic steps and pre-planning ideas are spelled out in detail. Those could actually apply to much more than just the title of the book, including any home business that you are contemplating.

The author shared some of her personal time management techniques and planning strategies, including examples. I will admit that some of her ideas surprised me, for instance, the fact that there are actually individuals who pay someone to do their blog commenting for them. I think of comments as sort of online conversation, and someone else doing a conversation for me seems false.

Reading this book isn't a guarantee of a new job, but it will begin to equip you for the possibility. One of the most helpful chapters was the one about customer service which provided important tips to keep in mind. This is not an all encompassing handbook, but it is a good introduction on this new online job.
