New Products from Crayola (a review)

The following is a sponsored review of these products from Crayola.

(1) Pack of Washable Sidewalk Chalk
(1) Color Wonder Mini Stow and Go
(1) Color Wonder Mess-Free Glitter Paper and Markers

I've been a fan of Crayola Color Wonder since they were first introduced when my girls were much younger. Their friends even got to use the Color Wonder fingerpaints with them in our van. These markers are great as little ones are learning to draw but not necessarily able to keep the markers on the paper. They mark on very little other than the paper created to use with them.

Sidewalk chalk is another favorite. When the kids were waiting to go into Vacation Bible School at our church this summer, they all created masterpieces together on the big concrete canvas right outside the church's front doors. My kids enjoy my parent's big driveway and porch for their chalk drawings.

prewriting activities

Color Wonder Mini Stow and Go:
•        Mess-free fun hits the road with Crayola Wonder Mini Stow and Go!
•        The Color Wonder Mini Stow & Go gives you a portable writing surface and storage for your creations and markers.
•        Markers color only on special paper and not on skin, furniture or carpets!
•        Each pack includes a 15-page mini Color Wonder Coloring Pad and 3 Color Wonder Markers

The Color Wonder Mini Stow and Go came with three Color Wonder markers, but there were spaces to securely hold more, too, so the kids added the ones from the package below to it for convenient storage. We brought these in the van with us on a family trip, and the kids all colored while the miles passed by.

Crayola Color Wonder Glitter

Color Wonder Mess-Free Glitter Paper and Markers:
  • Crayola’s new Color Wonder Glitter Paper is full of glittery fun but without the mess, since the glitter effects are in the paper.
  • Kids can create dazzling, sparkly masterpieces with their favorite Disney Princesses and Fairies.
  • With Crayola’s Color Wonder system, parents can rest easy since the mess-free Color Wonder markers will only appear on the special Color Wonder paper – not on skin, clothing, walls or furniture.
  • Kids can color and watch in awe as hidden images magically appear on the glittery paper.

These specially prepared pages would be great encouragement to new artists. Since the color doesn't appear on the silver glitter areas, they will still be able to create pictures with colors within the lines. Some of the areas to be colored are textured, ending up with a colored glittering effect.

Crayola chalk

"Welcome Home" greeted my parents as they returned from vacation.

And just in case they missed the greeting on the driveway, the kids made a smaller one by their door.

Crayola sidewalk chalk in 24 colors

Washable Sidewalk Chalk:
  • A standout from the crowd -- it’s the first sidewalk chalk featuring 48 classic Crayola crayon colors!  And that’s not all - the chalk is also bolder and more vibrant than ever.
  • With so many colors to choose from, kids can let their imaginations run wild to create beautiful masterpieces that may include “carnation pink” flowers, “sepia” colored tree trunks, “granny smith apple” turtles or “scarlet” colored lady bugs.
  • A new anti-roll shape prevents chalk from rolling away and the wide sides allow kids to draw thick lines.
  • Parents will appreciate that the chalk is washable from sidewalks and driveways - simply spray away with water!

  1. My daughter is absolutely nutty over Crayola Color Wonder products. We have to buy the packs every few days because she colors constantly.

  2. Lauren would love the glitter pages, but I love the idea of the mini stow-and-go sets. How awesome that it comes with a hard enough surface to write on so that it can be used in the car.
