The Tower of Babel ~ A Moms of Masterbooks Review

Did you love pop up books as much as I did as a child? Pop-ups have improved so much since then, and this format has one big pop-up image of the Tower of Babel that remains standing behind the pages that are turned instead of multiple tiny pieces that could get torn. (Caution with the folding parts still should be used with younger children.) Colorful pictures fill the pages as well as references of Scripture shared as the story is told based on those Scriptures.

"What is Babel, what happened there, and why is it so important? Many kids don't know the answers to these questions as biblical knowledge is becoming less and less of a priority in people's lives. This fun format book is a great way to teach kids about the reality of the Babel story and its significance in their lives.
The full-color book explains how the different languages and "races" came about and is in unique format with one large pop-up that stays up as you turn the pages and read the story. The stunning artwork is both beautiful and realistic, as it is based on the actual worship towers that were built in ancient times. This fun tool is a great way to teach the reality of the biblical story."

It is written in a way that young children can easily understand the story. A friend recently asked if I still read out loud to my kids. My husband and I both do. As a read-aloud this book is both story book and Bible study. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. The explanations are clear. I appreciated the pictures demonstrating how Noah's family grew after the flood. "All the people on earth lived in the same area and spoke the same language."

The book concludes with hope. Though men turned away from God, he sent his son Jesus to die for our sins. God's gift of eternal life is shared connecting this story from history to our lives today.

The large hardback Tower of Babel Pop Up and Read is available for $14.99 from New Leaf Press.

  1. My husband and I reviewed the adult version of the Tower of Babel through Master Books and was very impressed. I love how the books dig in deep even with the kids.
