Decorating for Thanksgiving

 {Getting Ready for the Holidays Blog Hop}

     Our holiday decorating is somewhat dictated by our travel. My husband's parents live over a day's drive away from us, so if we visit them for a holiday we are gone for the weeks before or after that holiday. Some years we spend Christmas with them, in which case our Christmas decorating is limited to very little beyond the nativity. This year we are planning to spend Thanksgiving with them, so instead of changing to my fall tablecloth we have been sorting through fall clothes in preparation for their colder weather.

     One thing we started last year, though, was enjoyed so much that we wanted to repeat it. On the first day of November we gathered small branches and filled a jar with small pebbles and acorns to support them for our Thanksgiving Tree. Our family and anyone who visits can write on a paper leaf something that they are thankful for and add it to the tree.

  2. I love your thankful tree! We've done some in the past, but I just didn't get one made this year. I'm missing it...
