Speekee Spanish

My son enjoys almost any television that we let him watch, but when we cancelled our satellite subscription a few months ago, his options narrowed a lot. Speekee TV "the worlds #1 Spanish course for young children" has been a welcome option to him. We received online access, however this course is also available on DVDs. The series consists of 10 episodes which feature talking puppets as well as live children. A lesson is even available for children to make their very own sock puppets to use as they watch. Joseph didn't choose to make a puppet, but he did enjoy watching the online Speekee TV series. While logged into their account, your child can also play with an online avatar puppet which he did enjoy.

Each episode includes both English and Spanish subtitles, so your child can read the words with their translations while listening and watching. Multi-modal learning in a form he enjoys- for us it worked to keep his attention. Each episode revolves around a theme: the zoo, vacation, even a party for the last lesson. Though it is limited to 10 episodes, they are meant to be watched over and over. A "free 40 week fast track" which consists of 40 e-mails (over 40 weeks) including recommended viewing schedule and additional ideas to help solidify the information in each lesson is included with your subscription. Repetition is beneficial to early learning. Maybe after the complete 40 weeks of this Joseph will be even more confident about speaking Spanish.

Designed for toddlers through elementary aged students, Speekee TV is available for $7.50 per month or $60 for a year. You can try it for free for 2 weeks
