Homeschool Crew Review: World's Greatest Stories

 "The stories are special... taken word for word from the Bible."

     We received the NIV version of Volume 1 The Prophets from The World's Greatest Stories which includes:
The Blazing Furnace
The Handwriting on the Wall
Daniel in the Lion's Den
Elijah & the Prophets of Baal
The Prophecy of Jonah

     These Bible stories are shared directly from Scripture (Daniel 3, 5, 6, I Kings 17-18, and the book of Jonah) and are available in NIV or KJV. Click the version to hear a brief sample. Samples of other "stories" are also available on the website. The CDs (6 volumes available) are $7.95 each.

      Each story is narrated in a way unlike any other audio Bible I've heard before. Music and sound effects are included in the background, but the drama is in the voice of the narrator. Actor George Sarris changes his voice to illustrate each character and situation. As you listen to the story of Jonah, you can hear fear in his voice and imagine the situation with the sound effects. Because these stories are taken straight from Scripture, children (or adults) can even read along in their Bibles as they listen.

     Our whole family has enjoyed listening to the first CD and I've added the others to my wish list. Joseph has asked to listen to this CD again and again.
