90 day challenge

I've accepted the challenge. I've committed to read the Bible in 90 days. Earlier this year quite a few online friends shared their journey as they did these readings. I was impressed. See, I have tried repeatedly in my life to read the Bible through, but not finished. Maybe in bits and pieces I have read it all, but never all at once, even in a year.

I remember about 14 years ago when our church class was challenged to read the Bible through in a year. I started off reading Genesis in January. I remember vividly the sadness when I learned (again, I was taught this as a child) that the Garden of Eden was not a place I could go visit, that it was closed- by God! I was so disappointed that I couldn't plan a trip there, but even more because I didn't remember the facts about it. I want to know God's Word.

Lately I have enjoyed exploring God's Word with my family. My 7th grade daughter is searching the Scripture for answers to questions I never even heard until college. Yesterday I had to turn to the teacher's guide to find the answer to a question about proving the Bible not contradicting itself. I am taking this challenge to become more familiar with this most precious Book.

Would you like to join in? The challenge begins Jan. 3rd.
